Margaritaville DM2000 Premium Frozen Concoction Maker Review

The difference with the cheaper margaritaville makers vs the Fiji DM2000 is:

  • With this margarita maker you can make 1 or 2 or 3 servings and the machine adds the proper amount of ice. If you don’t want a full pitcher then with some of the cheaper ones you will have to decide on the timing and the amount of ice yourself.
  • Has a knob to choose which of the different drinks you want to make: Rita’s, Daq’s, Colada’s or Smoothies. This will vary when to blend, how long to blend, when to add shaved ice and how much shaved ice should be added. So with this model you don’t have to learn how to make the different drinks yourself.

Drinks like:
daq. = blended frozen fruit first then add ice and blend again.
smoothie = blending simultaneously with more ice
Rita = blend a larger part of liquid with less ice
mudslide = drink based on ice cream?
etc.

Pros of the margaritaville DM2000:
Lots of automation so you don’t have to learn yourself how to make the different drinks.
Good quality.
Strong engine.

Cons of the DM2000:
The huge ice jar is handy but makes it difficult to place on most counters for normal kitchens.
Some people find it hard to clean while others say the contrary.

Summary of the margaritaville Fiji DM2000:

So basically for this price difference you get a lot more automation in serving different drinks or smaller portions. This is great as you will have less to learn yourself. The quality is good. On the other hand you will need some place to store it. So if it is worth the difference is up to you and how often you make margaritas or other drinks.
