This Epson Perfection v600 creates nice high quality scans from slides, photos or film and ,yes, also from documents. The images are fast, sharp and crisp with a 6400 x 9600 dpi resolution.
The EP v600 scanner has a load of editing programs, like Adobe Photoshop (great to effectively correct the contrast on your picture), DIGITAL ICE (Helps you to repair old damaged photos by smoothing out the creases and tears) and the Epson Easy Photo Fix (one touch function to restore your images).
Canon is one of the 2 big brand names under the best photo scanners. The CanoScan 9000F was at that moment the most sold photo scanner of 2013. And for a reason!
If you compare the 9000F to other scanners it preserves the pictures with a nice quality, especially for its price. Next to the quality it is a very easy going scanner which is great for the non techies under us. It has an autoscan mode to adjust the settings and it automattically cleans up if you want it to with the FARE level 3 technology.
The 9000F Canoscan offers high definition maximum color resolution with 6600×9600 dpi.
The Speed of this device is good because of canons new LED technology light source, fortunatelly without inferior results to the pics. As an extra: Leds don’t need a warm-up time.
The Canon CanoScan 9000F Color Image Scanner has loads of good reviews too, so that is why I put it here on the Best photo scanner to use for 2017 list.
Just some overall tips:
There are three type of scanners: photo scanners and document scanners.
- Photo scanners make higher quality scans.
- Document scanners can scan large numbers of documents fast. Quality is less.
- Film scanners. Huge quality, mostly overdone for photos because the average photo camera will not be that good.
So if you mostly scan photo’s and prefer a high quality on those you are better of with a photo scanner. It will handle a few documents without trouble.
I hope this list will help you.
